Uzbekcosmos
Uzbekcosmos, formally the Space Research and Technology Agency under the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is the country's national space agency, established on August 30, 2019 and headquartered in Tashkent. It is tasked with developing and implementing state policy and strategic direction for space research and technology in Uzbekistan, including satellite programme development and international space cooperation, and is led by director Shukhrat Kadirov. Uzbekcosmos represents one of Central Asia's newer national space bodies, formed as part of a broader post-2016 push by Uzbekistan to build a domestic space and remote-sensing capability that had not previously existed as a standalone institution.
